Youth Dance Company
is a 6 week training and performance summer program which brings together four performing artists from DanceCircus and Xalaat Africa with 10-15 youth dancers and drummers from across the city in a dynamic community program combining modern and African dance and Hip-Hop with live drumming.
The YDC creates a 45 minute performance
for performances in Boys & Girls Clubs, senior centers and community sites. The show includes dances in three styles and original choreography by the youth. The program concludes with an audience question and answer period with the artists and youth performers.
